In March, it gradually turned warm in Zhuhai , with the air becoming humid and gentle. The support efforts of the “Filial Piety Swallows” team never paused. This month, after a strict selection process, two families in need of assistance were identified, and we set out once again with donated supplies.

There are three children with special needs in the first family. The elder brother, Xiaoxi, attends a mainstream school and is well-behaved and polite. The younger brothers, Xiaohong and Xiaowei, attend a special education school. Their mother, Hua, is a full-time caregiver, while their grandfather helps with daily pick-ups and drop-offs, and their father works away from home to support the family. Hua remains optimistic and resilient. Because the children sometimes experience emotional outbursts and may break objects, the family has replaced their television with a projector to create a safer and more stable home environment, actively working to provide a calm and supportive setting for the children.

The second family lives in modest financial circumstances. The elder sister, Xiaowei, is a child with special needs, while her younger sister, Xiaobei, is healthy and bright. Their father suffered a stroke last year and is no longer able to perform heavy labor; he manages to support the family through a logistics job with difficulty. Their mother, Yan, stays at home full-time to care for the children. The family of four lives in a small ground-floor rental unit with no windows, yet the space is kept clean and tidy. When it was time to leave, Yan spoke softly with the visitors, briefly setting aside her heavy responsibilities and allowing herself a rare moment of relaxation.

The visits to both families left us deeply moved. Even in the face of hardship, both mothers remained optimistic and strong, creating a warm and protective world for their children. We hope that the continued support provided through the “Filial Piety Swallows” initiative can bring more warmth and smiles to these families, offering them encouragement in their daily lives and moments of comfort along the way.
